National Encouragement Day

In acknowledgement of National Encouragement Day this week, we want to show you how important it is to be a positive influence on the people and world around you.

National Encouragement Day is celebrated annually on 12th September, and is dedicated to uplifting people around us.

How many times has a simple word of encouragement or small reassurance made you feel better? Whether it’s a job at work, a project you’re struggling to finish, a bad day, or a new beginning, you will always appreciate an encouraging comment to help you reach that final goal.

Encouragement is a simple act of kindness, and we really don’t do it enough. We sometimes forget to acknowledge other people’s efforts, to reassure them that it’s not as bad as it seems, and to help them through that last hurdle.

So try becoming more aware of the people around you, your co-workers, your friends and your family. Here are some very simple things you can do to spread positivity and encouragement!

1. Offer them congratulations when they complete a project.

Encouragement is always helpful, even when a goal has been achieved. Make sure to acknowledge all the hard work you know has gone into a project or a job and reassure them that their efforts have paid off. This will give them the pride and courage to start a new job, undertake another project and know that they have support around them.

2. Encourage a friend when you see how close they are to completing a job.

It’s important to notice when a friend or co-worker is close to achieving a goal, project or job. They might just need that extra reassurance to help them with that final hurdle. Your comment could be the difference between them giving up and pushing forward.

3. Send a text or card to a family member or friend who you know is struggling.

You might know that one of your loved ones is having difficulty with their job, family or health. Try sending a small message encouraging them to keep going through a tough time. They will feel better knowing that there is someone out there thinking of them and supporting them and it might just make all the difference.

Dodl Bear truly advocates encouragement, positivity and inspiration and we want to inspire children to grow up thinking this way about their environment and the people in it. Encouragement is a big focus in The Magical World of Fingley books, and all of our curious creatures inspire, reassure and support each other through every adventure!

We should always try and remember to encourage each other a little bit every day. If each person that hears an encouraging message passes one on to somebody else, we can hope to make the world a more positive place one day at a time.

Xx
